Trainee Bookkeeper/Accountant

DTA & Co. is looking for a Trainee Bookkeeper to join our growing team, based in Falkirk.   We’re a modern practice using cloud-based technology to provide our clients with a range of services to suit their needs.  We take a proactive approach to working with our clients and like to keep in regular contact to make sure we’re doing all we can to help them manage their business efficiently and effectively.

This role is initially for a Modern Apprenticeship in Bookkeeping for 12 months. For the right candidate there will be the opportunity to progress to train as an Accountant with full study support via a professional body e.g. AAT, ACCA or ICAS.

The role is a great opportunity for a school leaver who has an interest in becoming an Accountant but does not wish to go to university. It would also be of interest to someone who has completed an HNC/HND in Accountancy at college but again doesn’t wish to progress to university.

In this role, you will learn a range of skills and work towards becoming a bookkeeper.

Responsibilities –

·         Sales and purchase ledger processing

·         Bank reconciliations

·         Reconciliation of sales and purchase ledger processing

·         Scanning sales and purchase invoices into software

·         VAT and Month End Reporting

·         Working alongside the senior Bookkeeper

·         Payroll

·         Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a polite and timely manner.

Requirements

School Leaver

·         Min 3 Highers

·         Interest in Accountancy

·         Ambitious and wish to become a qualified Accountant.

College Leaver

 ·         Min HNC in Accountancy

 ·         Ambitious and wish to become a qualified Accountant.
